Delta R. Frye Death, Obituary Smyrna, Tennessee – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Delta Rae Frye, who left this world on Monday, March 31, 2025, at the age of 34. Delta passed peacefully with her husband, Matthew Allen Frye, by her side. She is now with the Lord and reunited with her family who preceded her in death. Delta was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Tammy Lynn Gunnells Frye, as well as her cherished grandparents who adopted and raised her, Bill Lester Gunnells and Hessie Jane Elkins Gunnells.

She was also welcomed into heaven by her uncle Paul Gunnells, uncle Luther Gunnells, her Nan Janet Holiday Edge, and her Granny Juanita Holliday. While these family members are no longer with us, their memories live on through those who loved and were loved by Delta. Left to honor her memory are her devoted husband of 15 years, Matthew Allen Frye, along with the children who brought joy to her life: Carter Joseph, Izzy, Eliza, Rylee, and Jesse. Delta is also survived by her three sisters: Brenda Lee (David) Bryant, Latasha, Michelle Jane (Willy) Ellis, and Raven Lovecraft.

In addition, she is survived by her father-in-law Walter (Gloria) Frye Jr, her mother-in-law Denise (John) Melton, and an uncle Bill Gunnells. Delta was known for the love she shared with her family and friends, considering many of them to be as close as family. She had a warm heart and an even bigger spirit, making a lasting impact on everyone who knew her. A passionate lover of history and the outdoors, Delta enjoyed playing disc golf and was also a great lover of animals, often taking the time to care for them with the same love and attention she showed to those around her.

Delta’s passing has left a deep void in the hearts of those who knew her. Her memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of crossing her path. Her legacy lives on through her children, her family, and the many friends who will carry her memory with them.
